If you economize, you could save $170.10 a month without much sacrificing in your limited-income years:

  • Abandon expensive cell phone service like Verizon, in favor of T-Mobile or Cellular One, etc.
  • Eliminate cable TV, in favor of streaming video using a wireless modem or router.
  • Stop weekly high-end food shopping, in favor of shopping at Aldi, Lidl, Food Lion, or your local alternative. For most shopping, you don’t need Publix or Harris Teeter or Kroger or Whole Foods Market. The high-end shops can fill in the gaps.
  • Find auto insurance that does not factor in your credit score.
